Did you fall for Kendra immediately? How/when did you know she was your OTC? What's your headcanon like for her?

If Kara had followed Lee's order and stayed behind, and Kendra had gone back to Peg, how do you think she would have dealt with Kara's death and Lee's grief?

If she'd lived, what would like to have seen for her, personally and professionally?

Hmm. I don't think it would have affected her all that much. Not that it shouldn't have, but she was already numb to everything.

XO was the perfect role for her character. She certainly didn't want to be XO, so it seems she *definitely* would not have wanted to be CO. She was an effective XO. Tough and smart. I would have liked to have seen her stay exactly where she was professionally. Now... personally... that's a much harder question. Anything that would have helped her find a modicum of peace. A solid friendship with Kara, perhaps, if they both lived.

I think if they'd both lived, and they had been able to get past each other's prickly exteriors, they could have forged at the very least an unbreakable friendship.

Gah! Sorry this took so long. I will finish my LJ to-do list this week!

Kara - because Kara.

Kendra - I find I identify more closely with her than anyone else on the show. She sort of "clicks" with me. It's like, I know exactly what's going on in her head at any given moment. Which kinda makes me worry about myself... given some of the stuff she does.

Laura - She's a regular person who rose to meet extraordinary circumstances. I appreciate how she can be ruthlessly pragmatic when necessary, while still holding on to a strong set of balancing principles.

Athena - She doesn't seem to get much love. But it's always fun to explore the motives of a turncoat. I always saw her as something of a victim of Stockholm syndrome, maybe. Not that she didn't have good reasons for switching teams, it just feels like we weren't shown the whole story.

Cain - I almost forgot Cain! *slaps self* She's focused. She has an amazing ability to figure out what needs to be done, and to focus on that one real goal at the expense of everything else. For better or worse.

What is your head!canon for why Kendra got assigned to KP duty?

Haha. Uh, I don't really have head canon for that... but I suppose I could make some now! "Persistent insubordinate behavior" could mean almost anything, couldn't it? She was always one to have her own way of doing things. Her own Cain-inspired leadership style. It's easy to see her popping off at a "martinet" if he insisted on doing something that was clearly not in the best interest of the ship and its crew in any given moment. And, of course, it's easy to see her proceeding to do it in the proper way.

I'm sure she was frustrated... perhaps ashamed... that after everything they'd been through, after everything Cain got them through (and how she did it) to be left with someone like Gardner as her heir. Brought so low so quickly.
